Objectives

MetaFluidics assembles an interdisciplinary and intersectoral consortium to develop innovative tools for functional metagenomics that will use microfluidics to enrich libraries in targeted populations, maximise functional expression and screening throughput, while reducing screening time and costs. This general objective can be subdivided into the following tool categories: New molecular biotools will be developed to increase... Read more »

Governance

Project coordination The MetaFluidics project is coordinated by Assistant Prof. Aurelio Hidalgo from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. Prof. Hidalgo is specialized in molecular microbiology, protein engineering and microfluidics and has experience in the planning and execution of publicly funded national and international research programs (12 research grants, 3 of them as PI, including FP7-IAPP-324439 HOTDROPS... External advisory board

Given the fact METAFLUIDICS is an interdisciplinary project with innovation as a key driver to find industrially relevant products, the consortium has designed an external advisory board that incorporates the following relevant members of industry: Dr. habil. Pablo Domínguez de María studied Pharmacy and Chemistry in Madrid, where he also completed his PhD in Pharmacy,... Read more »

Workplan

The MetaFluidics Work package structure follows the workflow of metagenomics (WP2-5) and the whole project is driven by industrial targets with a clear focus on innovation and exploitation of project outputs (WP6). Objectives of the different Work Packages WP 1: Management (Lead: UAM) Coordination of overall research tasks to ensure an objective-driven project supervision, EC... Read more »
